Our MBS Team includes individuals with professional experience and involvements in a variety of areas:

  • Professional experience:  Our combined professional experience includes a former nonprofit CFO, a current non-profit Executive Director, Big 4 public accounting, public accounting, state accounting, foundation accounting, bank accounting, freelance accounting, publicly-traded healthcare finance, communications, higher education, foster care, insurance, real estate, and more.
  • Church involvement:
    • Staff – Our team includes both current and retired ministry staff (former Associate Pastor – Administration, former and current Minister of Music, former Preschool Minister) and family (multiple minister spouses and children).
    • Lay leadership – Our team also includes established lay leaders having served as trustee, deacons, church event coordinators, children’s Sunday School leaders, VBS leaders and coordinators, nursery volunteers, church choir members, church orchestra members, foster care ministry leaders, adult Bible study leaders/facilitators, and committee members and chairs (finance, personnel, nominating, ministry/outreach, preschool, administrative, security).
MBS’s founder is Nathan Edwards.  Nathan has more than 20 years of professional experience in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors and a lifetime of personal experience in local church congregations as a member, lay leader, and ministerial staff member.  Nathan is married to Corri Edwards.  They are proud parents of a son and daughter.  They reside in Gadsden, AL.  Nathan plays an occasional round of golf in his spare time, but enjoys his primary hobby of church music as the Minister of Music at First Baptist Church, Gadsden.
